Where I Belong
(Janet McLaughlin/Danielle Peck/Rich Weyland)

Far from the comfort of home
Hell-bent on making it on my own
I know I can do it
I've put my heart to it
Why do I feel so alone

Close to the edge of a dream
Seems like everything's just beyond my reach
When out of thin air
I hear Momma's prayer
And her words give me wings

To sail the blue sky
High above the clouds of my life
Way off into the great unknown
I've got this faith inside me
And I know my heart will guide me
To the place where I belong
Where I belong

Lost in this moment I've found
No doubts to keep me down
With no fear of fallin'
A warm wind is callin'
And I know I am bound

To sail the blue sky
High above the clouds of my life
Way off into the great unknown
I've got this faith inside me
And I know my heart will guide me
To the place where I belong
Where I belong

Sail the blue sky
High above the clouds of my life
Way off into the great unknown
I've got this faith inside me
And I know my heart will guide me
To the place where I belong
Where I belong

This song was written during the beginning of a very hard time in my life.

After a second bout with renal cell cancer, a tumor had been found in my mom's brain. My brothers, their families and I were spending as much time with her as we possibly could that spring.

I am so thankful for the time I had with her and that she got to hear this song, Where I Belong.
